Recently I saw the 'Aliens' Special Edition and I could not forget The Matrix, in fact the machine on board of Nostromo has the green letters and the word Matrix on it. Also in Matrix Revolutions there a scene which can easily been taken from the 'Aliens. My question in here is there's any direct relationship between those? Is the 'Aliens' one of the sources of the The Matrix?
In my very personal opinion, I think that there is a mixture of films that created The Matrix and Aliens is one of them.

I was in my sixth grade math class and it was raining very hard and for some reason, my teacher decided to let us have a free day so we watched this. Please don't ask me why I remember this lol. And now, we have the sims. The matrix reimprinting. The matrix in order. Happy 17th Birthday, Matrix. The matrix group. I really enjoyed this film, not because it did anything outstanding, but just because it presented a decent story with exhilarating special effects and Keanu Reeves. martial arts action.
The film presents us with a scenario which forces us to ask what reality consists of and how we know that what we see, feel and sense are true representations of the world.
The fuzzy line between solid reality and the human-centered perceptions of dreamtime or virtual reality get twisted into a grim future scenario where the slaves enjoy the bounties and the 'free' subsist on whatever they can scavenge.
The film glorifies the hackers, those who believe in freedom on principle, believing that individuals have the power to change their realities and good old fashioned chop-socky (albeit, with quite a few nods to the mortal kombat ilk of arcade games)
I was thoroughly entertained and plan on seeing it again real soon.

The wachowski's have lost their mojo after The Matrix trilogy. Hope they can get it back, because I'm not even amped for this new installment. It's hard to watch a movie that draws upon every other Sci-Fi and Action Movie before it, see what you like, and disregard the flaws.
My first viewing of the Matrix was as a popcorn movie, at best. Terribly bad wire-fu, combined with cheesy "Chosen One" dialogue, with a handful of half-decent acting within. The movie was an action extravaganza, not a particularly intellectually enlightening film as I was told it would be. It pulls from the Terminator, Christ allegory, Hong Kong Martial Arts, etc. to make a movie that supposedly has none of the flaws.
Nothing could be further from the truth. The plot is comparable to Star Wars, stories of the Christ, the Terminator. Nothing new or special here.
Keanu Reeves is there mostly for the ladies. he's not a particular good actor, but he's at least willing and capable of handling a physical role such as this. Like Carrie-Anne Moss, his selection is, at-best, average. Reeves is the train of thought of modern action stars: Sex symbols + action movie = Now Sellable to women. On the other hand, I think Moss was chose n for her ability to look like a really pale, dirty refugee on a derelict ship, moreso than her acting.
Laurence Fishburne is good, albeit a bit overblown as the prophetic Morpheus. His ability to convey the magnitude of his faith is particularly. religious in its context.
Hugo Weaving is good, but Agent Smith was no "Proper Villain" even thought it was a figurehead for the Machines.
Joe Pantaliano looked like he really was waiting for a check during the movie. I don't blame him. Wasted talent here.
Watching it a second time only seems to magnify the flaws. The bullet-time effects begin to show why these people are typical, and therefore, annoyingly like contemporary action stars. Emptying two guns into one poor sap of a policeman, then moving on with a totally new gun? The terrible Kung Fu sequences are especially an eyesore for those accustomed to more. experienced and natural-looking Martial Arts.
It is not "Perfect" in any way shape or form, but it is good. One will overlook the less than perfect execution of a cut'n'paste script for the raw, jaw-dropping special effects. Popcorn.

I really love this movie. Ironically before I saw it in theaters my parents saw it. After they told me about it I assumed it was boring. I was so wrong. The Matrix combines actioin and narrative with revolutionary special effects. The movies would only get progessively thats only because this is a perfect movie. The matrix theme. The matrix movie download. The matrixgames. The matrix order. The matrix characters. When that was first screened in the cinema, absolutely everyone left in shock. The matrix film.
